Charge d’Affaires Mr. Lakshuman Khanal attended an event at the Ministry of Culture and Sports on 4 July 2019 when His Excellency Mr. Salah bin Ghanem Al-Ali, Minister of Culture and Sports of the State of Qatar honored Mr. Fahd Badar, the second Qatari National to climb Mt Everest. Mr Badar also became the first Arab to scale Mt Everest and Mt Lhotse in a single expedition when he summited the two mountains on 22-23 May 2019.
Mr. Khanal also paid a brief courtesy call on H. E. the Minister of Culture and Sports during the occasion. Second Secretary Mr. Prabin Bhattarai was present on both occasions.
Also honored by H. E. the Minister during the occasion were prominent Qatari inventors Mr. Mohammed Al Jefairi and Mr. Khaled Al-Kubaisi who recently won awards in World Summit Awards 2019.
The Embassy had felicitated Mr. Badar last week for his feat which has expanded the dimensions of existing Nepal-Qatar relations.
