Assistance to the Victims of the Earthquake in Nepal


  1. The people, both Nepali and foreign, business and social organizations, and other international  organizations wishing to make financial assistance for the rescue and recovery of the victims of the earthquake in Nepal are requested to directly deposit/transfer the amount in one of the bank accounts of the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund as follows:

A copy of the bank receipt along with a covering letter can be sent to the Embassy of Nepal in Doha. The Embassy will update the list of donors contributing to the Fund.

  1. The priority items urgently needed for the rescue and relief operation are as follows: (a) Medicine, (b) Tents, (c) Dry Food, (d) Water, (e) Blankets, (f) Water Purifier, (g) Sanitation Kits, and (h) Mattresses.

Such items could be sent by the concerned on their own after getting necessary pre-approval of the Coordination and Contact Teamstationed at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathamdu, coordinated by Joint-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Ramesh Prasad Khanal (Cell No. 00 977 9808936041).

The person carrying the relief items as above should return back from the airport (TIA) upon handing over them at the Tribhuvan International Airporton a close coordination with the Coordination and Contact Team.

  1. At this time, there is a high need of the following voluntary rescue teams for the rescue and recovery of the victims of the earthquake: (a) Doctors: Orthopedics, Neurologists, Surgeon, and (b) Nurses, Health Assistants, Anesthetists.

It is advised that such a rescue team be small in size, sound and self-mobilizing. Each member of the rescue team should bear valid passport and get pre-approval of the Coordination and Contact Team at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
