E-Passport


General Information on Passport

Nepali passport (E-Passport) is valid for ten years from the date of issue. It is non-renewable; thereafter passport holders are required to apply for a new passport well within time before its expiry. However, in case of accidental damage or tampering of the passport or use of all pages meant for visa, one can apply for new passport any time.

The Embassy of Nepal in Doha has recently started receiving applications for E-Passport . Hence, the applicants are required fill up pre-enrollment form through https://emrtds.nepalpassport.gov.np/ . They can visit the Embassy within specified time along with printed application form, original and copy of old passport, original (if possible) and copy of citizenship (for minors- Minor certificate & citizenship, passport and marriage certificate copies of parents).

  1.   Application Form for E-Passport

The  pre-enrollment form for E-Passport may be filled up in the website of the Department of Passport (http://www.nepalpassport.gov.np).

  1.   Fees for issuance of Passport/Temporary Passport/Travel Document

  1. Required documents to apply for new passport (E-Passport) in lieu of old passport:

1.     Duly filled up  pre-enrollment form.

2.     Original (If possible) and Photocopy of of Citizenship Certificate.

3.      Original  and Photocopy of Old Passport.

  1.  Required documents to apply for new/renew passport (E-Passport) for the minor (under 16)

1.      Duly filled up  pre-enrollment form.

2.       Standard Passport Size Photograph with white background (for new born minors).

3.      Original and Photocopy of Minor’s Identity Card in Case of Baby Born in Nepal & Birth Certificate in Case of New Born Baby in Qatar

4.      Original and Photocopy of Old Passport, if for renewal.

5.       Photocopy of Parent’s Citizenship Certificate. (One Copy Of Each)

6.       Photocopy of Parent’s Passport. (One Copy of Each)

7.       Photocopy of Parent’s Marriage Certificate.

  1. Required Documents to apply for new passport in lieu of lost/damaged passport
  • Police report confirming about the loss of passport. (In case of damaged passport, police report is not required)
  • Original (If possible) and Photocopy of of Citizenship Certificate.
  • Photocopy of old passport .
  • Duly filled up  pre-enrollment form.
  • Photocopy of Qatari ID Card.

Note: Applicant must be physically present in the Embassy while submitting application form and collecting the passport.

The application forms for MRP can be submitted in the Embassy during the following hours

Submission of MRP applications forms:

Collection of MRP passports:

Sunday – Thursday                                           10:00 pm – 15:00 pm
