Information regarding Assistance to the Victims of the Earthquake in Nepal
- The people, both Nepali and foreign, business and social organizations, and other international organizations wishing to make financial assistance for the rescue and recovery of the victims of the earthquake in Nepal are requested to directly deposit/transfer the amount in one of the bank accounts of the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund as follows (Please find the information regarding Online donation facility from VISA/MASTER CARD for Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund (http://pmrelief.opmcm.gov.np/default.aspx):

A copy of the bank receipt along with a covering letter can be sent to the Embassy of Nepal in Doha. The Embassy will update the list of donors contributing to the Fund.
- On rescue items, the Government of Nepal has identified the following priority items urgently needed for the rescue operation. Everybody concerned are requested to manage to send such items on their own.
(a) Tents (b) Mattress (c) Blankets (d) Water Purifier
(e) Sanitation Kits (g) Dry Food (h) Medicine (i) Utensils
(f) Other similar matters useful for outstay
- As regards medical teams, the following categories are needed:
(a) Orthopedic Surgeon
(b) Anesthetist
(c) Neurologist
(d) Pharmacist
(e) General Surgeon
- It is advised that the rescue teams be small in size, sound and self-mobilizing. Each member of the rescue team should bear valid passport and get pre-approval of the Embassy of Nepal/Coordination and Contact Team at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
- While we have requested for humanitarian assistance, it is advised to obtain a prior approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kathmandu/ Embassy of Nepal for any foreign rescue operation team or for dispatching any relief material in order for better facilitation and coordination for their arrival, departures and relief works. The Embassy of Nepal in Doha may be contacted for needful coordination in this regard.
- A separate team under the coordinatorship of Mr. Ramesh Prasad Khanal, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Cell No. 00 977 9808936041) has been assigned at the Tribhuvan International Airport,Kathmandu to facilitate airport clearance for rescue teams from various countries.
- The flights arriving in Kathmandu with rescue missions or supplying relief materials are advised to return at the earliest in order to help avoid traffic congestion at the Airport which has a very limited space.
- As regards the inbound flights (except for regular commercial flights) for the rescue operation at the aftermath of the earthquake, the following details are required for the clearance of such flights at the TribhuvanInternational Airport, Kathmandu:
- A formal note of request addressed to MoFA, Kathmandu or the concerned Embassy
- Details of the aircraft
- Name list of the passangers/rescuers, and their passport/travel document details
- Details of the cargo/rescue materials/relief materials.
